One of my many many side projects is writing a second edition of Orc Dominion: Zentara, which will be renamed Orc Dominion: Coronation. I'm going to make several changes and additions to the story. For instance, I'm going to change the ending, so that the scene with Sir Drake is extended and gives a more fitting conclusion. I'm also going to change the orgy at the end to make it a little less extreme. There will still be a wedding gangbang, but it will probably focus on Jeanette and Susannah rather than the entire court. Any specific ideas or suggestions are welcome.
I'm also going to adjust some of the other scenes, such as the Jeanette performance on the stage, to make it less risky for her, or rather, do write them in such a way that people aren't wondering 'how the hell can no one tell it's really her'.
One of the things I am going to add is an ongoing subplot with the Eight Duchies of Zentara. Each Duchy is going to have their own candidate for Jeanette's hand in marriage, and she is going to have to weave in and out between them, stringing them along with promises but not choosing one or the other and risk alienating the rest. And of course, in the end she's going to settle on an orc ;)
With that plot line, the question I have for you is how overtly slutty do you think I should make Jeanette? Should she be sexually manipulating the Duchies this early in her character development, or should she be more subtle? I don't think she should be showing the nobles how big a whore she is this early, but on the other hand, it is the City of Sin and some things are expected. Let me know what you think!
I also want to add some other scenes. There were some scenes planned for The Soiled Dove that I never got to implement (though some of those became Tales of the Soiled Dove chapters). I could add some of those into the narrative, like with the Duke's Party. What if I had her using her role as a prostitute to gather information on the Duchies?
Finally, as I've mentioned before, my ultimate plan is to sell these online. This would start with the second edition. I'm still undecided whether to leave Zentara up on Literotica or not, or maybe have part of it on there as a preview. How willing would you be to pay for a second edition of the story? As well as a second edition of Rebellion? What do you think would be a fair price?
All that being said, Elfin Descent and Triumph will still be posted on Literotica for free. However, future second editions, after I've finished the first version, will eventually be offered for sale.

ReplyDeleteAs to Nu-Zentara, I would prefer that Jeanette first act cautious and cunningly, then somehow develop her 'sluttiness' gradually overtime.
Do you also have a listing for kinks that might feature into the new revised version? (Since I presume that you are no longer hindered by Literotica's certain rules on certain things)
First of all, I think it is important to keep the first version unchanged on Literotica. Regarding further stories generally speaking I am willing to pay (of course it depends on the price). Given your hard work you put in and the quality of your work, I think it is only fair to get compensated.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the second version. I think you should be very careful about Jeanettes spying activities and her slutiness. It is not realistic that she is a spy master at a young age. This is a craft you have to learn and you need a mentor. I don´t see such a mentor in the first series and it is hard to introcuce on. I liked that Jeanette learned and developed over the years. I also think that her slutiness should develop over the years and the Orcs and especially her husband should be a main catalyst of this development. If Jeanette had experienced all sorts of perversions (except of Orc cock) in the brothel before she "went Orc), the series would lose all lot of its charm.
In generel I would prefer to read more about the MILF Jeanette than the young Jeanette.

ReplyDeleteI buy every Amanda Clover story because I love her writing style and I know she writes about the same kinks that I enjoy. I would be willing to pay for the second edition of your work, but continued purchases would depend on the value added to these stories. Are they getting more extreme overall? Are we going to read stuff that we couldn't on Literotica?
It may end up being the wiser choice to leave your old work alone, and use it as a free hook to get people to be willing to pay for your new content. Just a thought :)

ReplyDeleteThat would make the most sense if I planned on writing a second orc dominion series after this one is finished. To be honest, I am not sure if I will. By the time Triumph is complete I will have been working on the series for five years. I'm not sure I will want to dedicate another five after that.
My initial plan was to use this as practice and then write a main stream series I have been planning for even longer than Orc Dominion :)
I do have some ideas for a continuation 400 years after Triumph which will center around the resistance to the Orc Dominion.
The problem is that it will be tonally different than this series. This series has been all about himan/elfin princesses getting corrupted by orc cock.
The next one will be about lower class humans rebelling against it. Rather than downfall and corruption it will be about building up strength and power.
I don't know if that is a story that people who enjoy my series will want to read!
I loved your stories because you either write fanatasy smut stories combined with a good storyline (first series) or a good storyline including smut scenes (second series). I think there are enough main stream fantasie stories out there (a lot of bad ones and a few very good ones). I think you are in a perfect niche right now. Leaving this niche might be the challenge you seek, but it will be tough. Would I pay for your smut work? Yes! Would I pay for your main stream stories? Honestly speaking, I don´t think so. There are only very few fantasy novels I like (LOTR, SA ong of Ice and Fire, The Witcher Novels.)

Seriously, i like your story-writing and i believe in you to write a good story, even if it might seem thematically different. Hell, i'm not only in it for the Human/Orc sex (Which i do enjoy), but i primarily enjoy your story for the fact that it's porn with a story... those are getting rarer these days. From the politics to the characters to the battles. I want to see more from your world, so sign me up for whatever future you have in mind.

It is my dream to one day write a series set in the fantasy equivalent of WWI...i.e. elf and orc kingdoms with bolt action rifles and machine guns going to war ;)

And the poor Thestans are still throwing javelins! I mean, socially they are probably closer to high middle ages in the story, and they certainly have a developed guild system. But militarily I always pictured them a little less advanced.

That would be what threw me off. I mean, I certainly need to brush up on my High-Medieval history (Given that i know more about Late-medieval England, though not by much), but it certainly felt like the 1200's to me with all the laws and guilds and what not.

I like to make my stories as accurate as possible. I spent an hour or so looking at medieval horses before coming up with the gifts in chapter 5, and an hour looking at Parisian tax income beore coming up with the Crown incomes in the first story.
I don't have the link right now, but I also found a medieval price sheet that has the cost of everyday things in the middle ages.

All you can do is start and see what happens! I had never even written a complete story when I started writing Orc Dominion: Zentara. But I did have a narrative of escalating sexual fantasies that I could connect with a plot, and then it was just a matter of writing one page a day until I finished.

I am a novice fanfiction writer. Unfortunately, I have not tried my hand at writing smut yet, seeing as I have no actual sexual experience to base a story on... yeah. I'm the kind of person who has to experience something before I feel competent enough to write about things. (Stories involving drugs will definitely be out of my league... seeing as I don't think I want to try cocaine... at least not yet :P)
I have found personally, that writing Original fiction is harder for me than Fanfiction is. That said, if I do get down to writing something, I will definitely let you read it!
That is the price sheet I was talking about! Actually, I find writing fanfiction harder than original fiction. I like to own my characters, and I never really find that I can get in the head of someone else's character and write them authentically.
