Lyriena’s heart pounded in her chest as she waited behind
the stage. She couldn’t hold back the
violent tremors shaking her to her core, despite how unroyal it made her
look. But perhaps that was for the best;
she definitely didn’t want anyone thinking she was royal tonight. She had been firm in her resolve to rob

Lyriena’s heart thudded faster at that; Brahm’s words were
cutting a little too close to the truth.
Why did he use her fake name? He
didn’t have to do that, but some people might remember that the former queen
was named Amerei. She exhaled nosily
through the hole cut out for her mouth, and then inhaled deeply through the
slots for her nostrils. Everything else
was covered; even her eyes. They were a
window to the soul, Brahm said, and could be used to recognize her. She would never know who claimed her
virginity tonight, but perhaps that was for the best.
The hood was hot and fit very snuggly with all her hair
tucked into it adding to her discomfort and a bit of a struggle to put on. She was nervous at not being able to see but
reasoned that maybe for the best. She
thought her heart would beat out of her chest when Brahm had zippered it
closed.
“But that is not all.

Another shiver went through her at the idea of an orc taking

The cheers of the crowd were near deafening, but fortunately
the mask did much to dampen the noise.
Still, some of the jeers managed to cut through the noise and her mask.
